5 Steps to Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone

By the time we get to midlife most of us are comfortably settled in our lives. While this can be a positive thing our lives can also become stagnant and our comfort zone narrows.

Most of my dreams and goals involves getting out of my comfort zone. In trying to reimagine my life after 50 I knew I would need to get out to my comfort zone to have the kind of life I wanted and to make my dreams come true.

5 steps to getting out of your comfort zone

Make a list of desires, dreams, and goals. 101 Things in 1001 Days an excellent website to keep track of this.

Start with the easier or quickly accomplished goals. Gain some confidence!

Move on to the harder items but break the goal or dream into manageable steps.

Do something every day to work towards a goal or dream no matter how small. Many times once you start working on a goal you will achieve more than you initially intended.

Celebrate yourself when a goal is achieved and then move on to next goal!
